Tiguan gets facelift for new year
Tech upgrades inside, plus lower price for top models
Volkswagen‘s Tiguan is getting a refresh for 2022 that includes new styling and new tech for the popular crossover. It also includes a price cut, at least on top models, with a loaded SEL R-Line coming in $2,500 less than the top model offered last year.
All 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan models will be powered by the same 2.0L turbo-four making 184 hp. Front and all-wheel drive are offered on S, SE, and SE R-Line, with the top SEL R-Line AWD only. A new nose with new LED light signature is the most obvious change, but the four wheel designs are also new.
Tech updates include the Digital Cockpit cluster, standard on an 8.0-inch screen and with a 10-inch optional screen available. CarNet with WiFi is standard, while SE and up add wireless charging and wireless app connect for your phone.
Heated seats are standard, and available features include ventilated seats as well as leather and leatherette seating. Cinnamon and Noisette have been added to the colour palette inside. Lastly, IQ Drive driver assistance with front collision warning, blind spot monitoring, rear traffic alert, lane assist, adaptive cruise, and Travel Assist are on all by S, with S getting front assist, side assist, and rear traffic alert.
The 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan starts from $25,995 or $27,495 with AWD. SE is $29,495 and $30,995, SE R-Line Black is $32,295 or $33,795, and SEL R-Line starts from $36,595. The new models should hit dealers in the U.S. this quarter.
