Volkswagen Unveils the Electrifying ID.7 Tourer

Don’t even ask… The Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer won’t come.

Volkswagen has introduced the ID.7 Tourer, or the station wagon version of the ID.7 sedan. This new addition stands out as one of the inaugural electric estate cars in the upper midsized class in Europe, not North America, blending functionality with innovative technology.

The ID.7 Tourer is not just about space; it’s about making electric mobility more accessible and practical for a broader audience. Designed to accommodate five passengers comfortably, the vehicle offers an impressive luggage capacity of up to 605 litres, which can expand to a maximum of 1,714 litres with just two occupants. This makes the ID.7 Tourer an ideal choice for families and long-distance travelers who require ample space without compromising on environmental sustainability.

Volkswagen has equipped the ID.7 Tourer with two battery options, catering to varying needs and preferences. The larger battery variant promises an exceptional range of up to 685 km, addressing one of the most common concerns associated with electric vehicles – range anxiety. This significant range is complemented by a fast-charging capability that allows the battery to recharge from 10 to 80% in less than 30 minutes at DC quick-charging stations, ensuring minimal downtime during longer journeys.

With the ID.7 Tourer, Volkswagen has gone a step further to enhance the driving experience with state-of-the-art technology and comfort features. The vehicle comes standard with an augmented-reality (AR) head-up display, projecting essential information directly into the driver’s line of sight.

Comfort takes a front seat in the ID.7 Tourer, with the introduction of the new Wellness In-Car app, which integrates seamlessly with the vehicle’s systems to create an ambiance tailored to the occupants’ needs. From the ergoActive seats equipped with a novel pressure-point massage function to the innovative use of smart glass in the panoramic sunroof, every aspect of the ID.7 Tourer is designed with passenger comfort in mind.

The ID.7 Tourer’s design is a harmonious blend of traditional estate car aesthetics and modern, dynamic elements – it’s gorgeous. The extended roofline not only enhances the vehicle’s silhouette but also contributes to the spacious interior.

European presales of the Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer will start within the first quarter of this year. Manufactured alongside the ID.7 fastback saloon and the ID.4 SUV at Volkswagen’s dedicated electric mobility plant in Emden, Germany, the ID.7 Tourer will satisfy those looking for an executive look without compromising on utility. With its blend of space, extended range, and innovative features, the ID.7 Tourer is ready to meet the diverse needs of modern consumers, so long as they’re not North American.
