The Coupe is heavily inspired by the Porsche 356A.
Its 40kWh battery delivers a WLTP range of 230 miles.
Pricing starts at £81,250, or about $113,250 US.
The Watt Electric Vehicle Company (WEVC) is about to launch not only a new EV, but a two-seater, rear-wheel drive, mid-motor-mounted, and high-performing electric vehicle. The WEVC Coupe is a combination of a much-loved design and leading technologies.
Build on WEVC’s own PACES (Passenger And Commercial EV Skateboard) EV platform, this Porsche 356-inspired will be far quicker than the original. The Launch Edition vehicles, which will be available in early 2022, will have a mid-rear-mounted 120kW (160bhp) electric motor that will drive the rear wheels. It will be fed by a 40kWh lithium-ion battery which is expected to deliver up to 230 miles of WLTP range. The 0-62mph sprint goes by in just over five seconds.
This little Coupe will be a blast to drive. Watt has engineered the car to benefit from a nearly 50:50 weight distribution and the battery is built into the vehicle’s structure. Watt says that the driver comes first in this car. They’ve carefully honed the ride, handling, and steering characteristics to maximize driving pleasure.
Manufacturing begins in November with first deliveries in early 2022. Each WEVC Coupe can be individually tailored to a customer’s tastes. Only 21 120kW Launch Edition Coupes will be made and priced from £81,250 ($113,250 US).
Thank you Matt for your very kind words about our Coupe. It would be a pleasure to arrange a test drive for you once we are all allowed to travel more freely.
