The Jeep Gladiator’s insane success might spawn a pickup version of the yet-to-be released Ford Bronco. We like where this is going.
As of right now, it seems clear that the Ford Bronco can be whatever Ford decides it will be. There are stories about a big 4-door Bronco, a small 2-door Bronco, a baby Bronco, a Bronco Raptor and most recently, a Bronco pickup. Seeing as though the Ford Bronco and Ford Ranger are siblings, it would seem stupid to pass on the opportunity.
The link between the two Ford trucks was made evident on a number of occasions, most recently when it was accidentally discovered, at a Canadian Tire store of all places, that the 2021 Ford Bronco will be offered with a turbocharged 2.3-litre 4-cylinder engine, very likely, the Ranger’s mill.
According to an Automobile magazine story, the Ford Bronco pickup, aimed squarely at the Jeep Gladiator, is scheduled for production in exactly 5 years from now. As well, like the Gladiator, the Bronco P-U will feature four doors and a short bed, not unlike that of the Ford Explorer Sport Trac from earlier this Century
Much can change between now and 2024, like an earlier launch date, but no matter what, the Bronco will make a huge splash in all its segments when it arrives starting in 2021.
