Earlier today Volkswagen launched, for the first time, pre-bookings for its all-new EV model, the ID.3.
The first member of the ID. family is now available for pre-order in Europe. The name of this new fully-electric vehicle is confirmed to be the Volkswagen ID.3.
Available for pre-order is a special launch edition called ID.3 1st. This edition is limited to 30,000 vehicles and has a range of 420 km (WLTP). The Volkswagen ID.3 1ST special edition will be available in Germany for less than €40,000 while the smallest battery version will start under €30,000, the manufacturer said. The range will vary from 330 to 550 kilometres (WLTP).
Still planned for production at the end of 2019, the first of the ID.3 1st will be delivered to customers in mid-2020.
“With the start of pan-European pre-booking for the ID.3, e-mobility at Volkswagen will become concrete for our customers. From today, everyone can take part,” said Jürgen Stackmann, Member of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen brand responsible for Sales, Marketing and After-Sales. “With the ID.3, we will be ushering in the third major chapter of strategic importance in the history of our brand, following the Beetle and the Golf. With the ID.3, we are making the electric car fit for mass mobility. Initially, we will electrify Europe with the ID.3 and then other regions with further electric models in the ID. family which are to follow in the near future.”
The Volkswagen ID.3 1st special edition will be offered in four colours and three versions. Those three versions will be called ID.3 1st, ID.3 1st Plus and ID.3 1st Max. All of them will feature voice control and navigation system. The Plus will add IQ. Light and bi-colour exterior and interior design while the Max will get a large panoramic glass roof and augmented reality head-up display.
