Pre-orders will be possible via VolksKlick.
And that’s right, pre-orders starting next year only.
The good news is that a dual-motor AWD version is confirmed.
Even so, that does not mean that we will actually take delivery of the vehicle in calendar-year 2023. In fact, Volkswagen Canada’s press release states that the new highly-anticipated ID. Buzz is expected to arrive in 2024. And this will likely only happen if no one in Canada, other than you, me, and our photographer orders one.
It’s not difficult to gauge the interest in the new 2024 Volkswagen ID. Buzz. VW’s been teasing the microbus’ return for over 20 years, starting with the 2001 Microbus concept unveiled at that year’s Detroit Auto show.
Based on the most recently available information, an AWD (aka dual-motor) version will also be offered along with the single rear-motor layout. The 2024 Buzz will be the long-wheelbase iteration and provide seating for 5 (2-3), 6 (2-2-2), or 7 (2-3-2) passengers.
The Buzz sold in Canada will be manufactured in Hanover, Germany, the same assembly line that will build them for all global markets.
Pricing information is still at least a year away however we can safely guess that a base 5-passenger RWD 2024 ID. Buzz will start in the vicinity of $45,000. A top-trim AWD 7-passenger unit will easily top out at over $60,000.
Volkswagen Canada will have a pre-order system available on VolksKlick in 2023.
