60-second teaser video shared at weekend’s Rolex 24 at Daytona race.
Full specs to be given later on today.
This past weekend was the running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona, a series that Cadillac takes very seriously. It was at this event that Cadillac opted to released not only some teaser images of the 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing And CT5-V Blackwing but to share a 60-second teaser video of the two super-Caddies.
The message sent out by the video is very clear: These are the two most track-capable Cadillacs ever. GM’s luxury brand has been racing with a fair amount of success over the last few years and if we are to believe (which we do) that they’ve infused some of the know-how and experience into the Blackwings, then they will be fast.
We already have a handful of information on the two cars, namely engines, output, and drivetrain. That information was leaked late last week but here’s a brief recap:
The CT4-V Blackwing will be powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.6-litre V6 that will produce about 450 horsepower. Transmission options will be between a 6-speed manual transmission and a 10-speed automatic that will send the power to the rear wheels only.
The CT5-V Blackwing will get 650 horsepower from the C7 Z06 Corvette’s supercharged 6.2-litre V8. It too will be offered with a 6-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission, and RWD and AWD will be available.
