The new small BMW SUVs will be revealed officially tomorrow at 6 pm.
The iX1 is the EV version.
Both visually borrow from the current X3.
This was to be expected. Images and details of the all-new 2023 BMW X1 and iX1 have leaked on the web just about a day ahead of their planned global reveal.
The first comment about the leaked images is that the new small SUVs look remarkably similar to the current large compact X3. That’s no accident as frankly, the new X3 is dashing. As with other BMW vehicles, the front grille has grown in dimension, and every addition brought with the M Sport Package includes larger air intakes and plenty of aero.
We really like the fact that there’s little visual differentiation between the petrol-powered X1 and the electron-powered iX1. About the latter, it features BMW Gen5 eDrive platform good for 268 horsepower along with a 40-horsepower bump when required. Feeding the electric motors is a 64.7 kWh battery which is said to provide up to 438 kilometers of range according to WLTP figures.

Cabins will now be fitted with an available large, curved display (10.25-inch IP + 10.7-inch touchscreen) as seen in the i4. Boot space will range from 540 litres (2nd row up) to 1,600 litres when stowed.
More details will be shared tomorrow, May 31st, at 6PM EST.
