2023 Volkswagen ID.4 Priced from $43,995 in Canada

The Volkswagen Chattanooga, Tenn. facility, where all our ID.4s will come from, has made new versions possible

  • $1,000 lower base price is due to the new standard 62 kWh battery.

  • The once base 82kWh RWD model is now priced from $47,995.

  • The AWD model’s price also increases by $3,000 to $52,995.

Demand for Volkswagen‘s first all-electric SUV, and second electric vehicle, remains extremely strong. Various delays and part supply issues have forced many to wait more than 18 months. That’s the bad news. The good news is that about 7,000 ID.4 SUVs per month will be leaving the new assembly line very soon.

The extra build capacity will not only put ID.4s in pre-order customers’ driveways but will enable new shoppers to better customize the model they want. The big news is that a new base model featuring a smaller 62 kWh battery with RWD will become available. At the moment, the estimated range is not available.

The remainder of the SUV gets a few updates notably gloss black highlights on the front bumper and three new available wheel designs, including two different 20″ choices. New colours are added including Tourmaline Blue.

Indoors, the ID.4 will get a standard 12-inch infotainment display, and updated seats with a “mélange” design blending recycled fabric centre sections with leatherette side bolsters. There will be new interior colour combinations including “X Blue” trim along with the “Statement” package.

2023 model year Volkswagen ID.4 models will arrive at Canadian dealerships this fall.
