First real three-row EV hits dealers soon
Kia will offer RWD, AWD models of the EV9
Kia has just priced the 2024 EV9 electric. The three-row crossover will start from an incentive-friendly $59,995 in Canada, and then climb significantly to more than $80,000 for a fully-loaded model.
The starting point for the 2024 Kia EV9 is the Light RWD. That model gets a 76.1 kWh lithium-polymer battery along with a 215 hp motor that drives the rear axle. It’s expected to offer 370 km of range, and it can charge from 10-80 percent in as little as 20 minutes on a 350 kW Level 3 fast charger.
Next up is the Wind RWD, which starts from $62,995. The Wind trim has upgrades including a beefier 99.8 kWh battery, but at 201 hp it is less powerful than the Light. The Wind also includes a heat pump and with an estimated 489 km is the longest-range EV9 model.
The top trim is called Land, and it is sold exclusively with all-wheel drive. Land offers a basic model, a Premium Package, and a GT-Line pack for $64,995, $74,995, and $78,995 respectively. AWD models get the larger battery, but the dual motors combine for a total of 379 hp and 516 lb-ft. Basic and Premium Package Land AWD models have a range estimate of 451 km, with the GT-Line dropping that to 435.
The 2024 Kia EV9 is set to arrive at dealers before the end of the year. Unless you’re already on the list at your local dealer, expect a much longer wait, though. When Kia opened reservations this summer, they filled up extremely quickly.
