2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer: Mid-Cycle Update on the Horizon

As part of a bold product plan featuring four new or refreshed models in as many months, Jeep has partially unveiled an update to the Grand Wagoneer for 2026.

  • The Jeep Grand Wagoneer is a full-size luxury SUV designed to compete with the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator

  • The Grand Wagoneer has been on the market since 2022

  • Under its hood lies the turbocharged Hurricane inline-six engine

The Grand Wagoneer is the brand’s full-size luxury SUV, positioned squarely against heavyweights like the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator. On sale since 2022, it currently houses the turbocharged Hurricane 3.0-litre inline-six under its hood.

Earlier this month, EcoloAuto attended the unveiling of the new Jeep Cherokee, with more details on that model to come later in August. During the presentation by newly appointed Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf, it was revealed that a refreshed Grand Wagoneer is in the pipeline. This announcement is part of Jeep’s four-month rollout, which will begin with the 2026 Cherokee, followed by updates to the Grand Cherokee and Grand Wagoneer, and capped by the launch of the highly anticipated all-electric Recon SUV.

A More Contemporary Look

Jeep has released the first official image of the updated Grand Wagoneer. A closer look reveals a reworked front fascia, featuring a redesigned grille and new fog lights with a distinct style. The vehicle in the photo also appears to ride on wheels not currently offered for 2025, suggesting a new selection of rims will join the 2026 lineup.

No Mechanical Changes Yet

So far, Stellantis has not announced any mechanical upgrades. When the Grand Wagoneer debuted in 2022, it came with a 6.4-litre HEMI V8, which was replaced for 2024 by the twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre Hurricane inline-six, producing 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent through an eight-speed automatic transmission to a standard 4×4 system. Jeep declined to comment on any potential updates for the Wagoneer, the slightly less-equipped sibling to the Grand Wagoneer.

A Rare Sight in Quebec

A mid-cycle refresh won’t hurt this luxury SUV’s appeal. In the first half of 2025, Stellantis sold just 26 combined units of the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer in Quebec, down from 69 in the same period last year. By comparison, Cadillac sold 253 Escalades, while Lincoln moved 65 Navigators during the same timeframe.

In short, Jeep is preparing to pull the wraps off the refreshed 2026 Grand Wagoneer as part of a four-model rollout that will unfold over the coming months.
