2026 Lucid Gravity Grand Touring Review The Luxury Electric SUV That Does Almost Everything

I’ve driven a lot of electric SUVs over the past few years, but the Lucid Gravity caught me off guard. It’s ridiculously quick, beautifully designed, and somehow manages to feel both like a luxury lounge and a family SUV. After spending time driving it both on-road and through an off-road course over a two-day event, something became clear to me: this isn’t just another three-row electric family SUV, it’s a technological showcase that just happens to carry seven people.

Futuristic Luxury Inside and Out

A massive 34-inch driver’s display stretches across the dashboard while a 12-inch central touchscreen handles infotainment, navigation, and vehicle settings. Fortunately, Lucid hasn’t gone completely digital. The air vents are still adjusted manually—a refreshing detail after recently driving a Tesla that required using the touchscreen just to move the air vents.

The interior is filled with upscale touches including suede trim, available Tahoe Nappa leather upholstery, a suede headliner, beautiful metallic accents, and an enormous panoramic glass roof that stretches nearly the entire length of the cabin. The result is an open, airy space that feels more like a luxury lounge than an SUV, I especially loved the glass roof, it feels very spacey.

The exterior is expressly modern too. I love the fact that it’s not a boxy SUV, but rather smooth, curvy and sleek. Some say it looks like a minivan but I disagree, I feel like it’s a low slung (but able to be lifted with the air suspension) sporty looking body style built to handle families and all their gear, but with a lot of style.

My First Impression

My first impression was simply how luxurious everything feels. The design is clean without feeling sparse, and every surface you touch feels expensive.

One of my favourite details was the power-operated front trunk, complete with a built-in seating area underneath the hood and a household-style power outlet. It’s one of those clever features that makes you stop and think, “what can we do with this?”.

Technology

Lucid manages to balance modern technology without getting rid of all physical touch buttons. A simple thing like manually adjustable air vents made me so happy as I’ve been disappointed in screen-controlled air vents in several recent test drives.

The screen is quick to respond and thankfully still supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Grand Touring also offers available DreamDrive Pro, Lucid’s most advanced driver assistance package. It features a comprehensive sensor suite with future-capable hardware designed for increasingly advanced driving and parking assistance as software updates are available.

Interior

There’s a ridiculous amount of storage. Even with the optional third row up, there’s a deep compartment under the floor where the seats fold into. Fold the third row flat and the cargo area becomes massive.

The second row offers generous legroom, a completely flat floor, USB-C charging ports, four-zone climate control, integrated window shades, and unique fold-down tray tables that almost feel like airline seating. Families will appreciate the two sets of LATCH child-seat anchors.

The optional third row includes cup holders, USB-C ports, and air vents. However, because of the low floor, I felt like these were more like jump seats than a real third row.

Performance

The Gravity Grand Touring is powered by dual electric motors producing an astonishing 828 horsepower and 909 lb-ft torque. This will get you from 0-100 kph in about 3.4 seconds. You will see this in action if you watch our Instagram Reel where I demonstrate the 0-60mph time on a closed course.

Instant electric torque is always one of the highlights of driving an EV, but the Gravity delivers it with a way that never gets old. It was easily one of the quickest vehicles I drove during the two-day Mudfest event.

The battery is 123 kWh and range is up to 450 miles or over 700 kilometers.

Ride & Handling

During the off-road day at Mudfest, increasing the ride height allowed the Gravity to confidently tackle terrain that most luxury crossovers would avoid altogether. On pavement, the suspension delivers a composed and comfortable ride.

Let’s be honest, most people spending nearly $180,000 on a Gravity aren’t heading for an off-road course like I drove it on.

The steering feels precise for such a large SUV, while the cabin remains impressively quiet even under hard acceleration.

Could I live with the Gravity daily? Yes.

Living with the Gravity appears easy. I don’t need a third row any more as my kids are a bit older now and it’s rare all 5 of us are in the car together.

Families will appreciate the abundance of storage, power outlets, wireless charging, hidden cup holders, flexible seating configurations, and generous cargo capacity.

The functional frunk is a fun addition.

Is There a Downside?

The biggest obstacle for many buyers will simply be the price.

The example I drove included nearly every available option, including DreamDrive Pro, the Comfort and Convenience Package, Dynamic Handling Package, Platinum Appearance Package, Tahoe Nappa leather, Aurora Green Metallic paint, larger wheels, and the optional third row.

As tested, pricing reached roughly $176,000 CAD, stickered at $125,650 USD.

The third row also feels better suited to children or shorter trips than regular adult use, particularly because of the higher seating position and limited footwell depth.

The 2026 Lucid Gravity Grand Touring delivers an impressive combination of luxury, capability, and performance. With 828 horsepower, air suspension, a refined cabin, and enough cargo flexibility for family life, it feels like a flagship electric SUV.

What impressed me most wasn’t just the speed, although it’s incredibly quick, but how complete the overall package feels. Lucid has created an SUV that’s luxurious without being flashy, technologically advanced, and practical without sacrificing excitement.
