Quicker Cayenne hybrid makes more power from V6 engine
Second screen option, standard Sport Chrono
Porsche has added yet another hybrid to the Cayenne lineup. The S E-Hybrid is a middle ground, falling between the base Cayenne hybrid and the bonkers Turbo hybrid.
The 2024 Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid will get 512 hp from its hybrid system and 553 lb-ft of torque. The bulk of that power comes from a tweaked 3.0L turbocharged V6, which makes 348 hp on its own. Add the 174 hp electric motor ahead of the eight-speed auto and you have that 512 hp total.
Porsche fits its adaptive air suspension to the model as standard equipment. The two-chamber system allows for a wider range of spring rates, the company said. There are also changes to the hybrid system and its 25.9 kWh battery to help maximise performance. Porsche didn’t announce an electric range for the model, but it should be close to the 80 km the company has promised for its other PHEVs.
The S hybrid gets 20-inch Cayenne S wheels and a twin-pipe exhaust. The SUV model gets silver exterior trim while the “coupe” gets black exterior accents. LED matrix lights are standard with HD matrix lights on the options list.
Other standard go-fast bits include the Sport Chrono package while comfort features include eight-way power seats and updates to Apple CarPlay. The 2024 Cayenne S E-Hybrid will also have an optional passenger screen for in-car video.
The 2024 Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid starts from $113,700 and the Coupe runs from $119,800. Deliveries start in the summer.
