All-New 2026 Kia EV9 GT Lands in Canada Starting at $85,295 with up to 418 km Range

Kia’s new EV9 GT ups the ante with 502 horsepower, high-tech suspension, bold styling and a price just over $85,000.

  • 2026 EV9 GT delivers 502 horsepower, 545 lb-ft torque, hitting 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds.

  • Exclusive ECS suspension, e-LSD, and GT styling set this top EV9 apart from other trims.

  • Canadian pricing starts at $85,295, with high-performance Continental tires and striking lime brake callipers standard.

The new 2026 Kia EV9 GT pushes the family-friendly electric SUV into performance territory. Priced at an almost unreasonably low $85,295 before fees, it’s easily the range-topper in Kia’s Canadian EV lineup and literally the biggest power bargain in the land.

The GT, not to be confused with the $79,495 GT-Line, is built around a dual-motor AWD setup producing 502 horsepower and 545 lb-ft of torque, rocketing it from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds, or 0.7 seconds faster than the standard Land AWD version. Both are awe-inspiring numbers for a three-row SUV tipping the scales near 2,700 kg.

Even with its performance focus, the GT still delivers an estimated 418 km of range, thanks to the large 99.8 kWh battery, and can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 24 minutes on a 350 kW fast charger.

To keep all that power under control, Kia fits it with an advanced electronically controlled suspension (ECS) that can “preview” road conditions to proactively smooth out rough patches and keep body movements in check on highways. This is essentially the same system found on many Genesis vehicles. An electronic limited-slip differential (e-LSD) manages traction at the rear, helping carve through corners with far more confidence than you’d expect from a big utility vehicle.

2026 Hyundai Ioniq 9 First Review: Oddly Designed to Stand Out, Built to Settle In

Unique GT design cues announce its status immediately: a bold and distinctive digital lighting pattern, 21-inch GT-exclusive wheels wrapped in grippy Continental high-performance tires, lime green monoblock brake callipers clamping onto oversized rotors, and subtle, low-profile roof rails all give it an unmistakable presence. Inside, the GT dials up the sport factor with heavily bolstered suede-and-deco leather sport seats, ambient lighting in unexpected places like the seatbacks, and lime-coloured stitching throughout. New 100W USB ports spread across all three rows ensure everyone’s devices stay powered, and Kia’s latest digital systems include remote start with climate control, full remote charging functions, and connected services through Kia Connect.

All told, the 2026 EV9 GT is an incredible value- and performance-packed SUV that currently has no equal. A semi-equivalent Jeep Wagoneer S retails for $95,000 while a Rivian R1S starts at over $140,000. The Cadillac Vistiq goes for $96,000 to start, and Audi wants $84,000 in exchange for a base Q6. There’s nothing like it, that is, until Hyundai launches the Ioniq 9 N…
