A short while ago, pictures of the “Baby Bronco” surfaced on the interwebs leading to speculate that Ford intends to launch a smaller version of the highly anticipated Bronco SUV.
The pictures seemingly originated from the same dealer conference that was held a few months ago in Las Vegas. This conference also leaked images of the next Mustang GT500 and others.
Just recently, Ford filled a trademark for the name Puma, one it held in Europe at the end of the last Century up until the first few years of this one. The Puma was not an SUV, but a Fiesta-based sporty 2-door hatchback, which means it was a car. As we’re are all well aware now, Ford’s doing away with non-utility vehicles in the near future.
The Bronco name has grown to such heights that it’s very possible to it will become a sub-brand of the Blue Oval. The Puma name, which according to the trademark application, might be used for “4-wheel drive vehicles and sports utility vehicles,” lending credence to this whole story.
As such, the small Bronco may be known as the Bronco Puma. This leads us to wonder what the Big Bronco might be referred too. The Bronco Excursion? Or perhaps, in the image of the Range Rover, it might be simply known as the Bronco.
