Electrify Canada Expands EV Charging Network to Nova Scotia and Québec

Electrify Canada adds over 40 Hyper-Fast chargers, expanding into Nova Scotia and bolstering Québec’s network

– Electrify Canada adds its first stations in Nova Scotia, expanding into seven Canadian provinces.

– Québec sees five new stations, nearly doubling Electrify Canada’s presence in the province.

– The expansion includes 350 kW Hyper-Fast chargers, supported by federal government funding through ZEVIP.

Electrify Canada is expanding its electric vehicle (EV) charging network, adding its first stations in Nova Scotia and increasing its presence in Québec. The new stations will add over 40 Hyper-Fast chargers capable of delivering speeds up to 350 kW, bolstering the infrastructure supporting the adoption of electric vehicles in Canada.

Electrify Canada’s expansion includes two stations in Nova Scotia and five new stations in Québec. The Nova Scotia stations, located in Amherst and Bedford, mark the company’s debut in the province. They help connect the EV network between Nova Scotia and neighbouring New Brunswick. This move supports interprovincial travel for EV drivers and makes long-distance trips more convenient.

In Québec, five new stations will be added in Greenfield Park, Mont-Tremblant, Laval, Québec City, and St-Hyacinthe, nearly doubling Electrify Canada’s presence in the province. The Greenfield Park and Laval locations will be the first to feature eight Hyper-Fast chargers.

Partnership with Canadian Tire and Government Funding

Electrify Canada is working with Canadian Tire to bring these new stations to key retail locations, making charging more accessible for everyday drivers. The stations are strategically placed along popular travel routes and close to shopping and dining, allowing drivers to recharge their vehicles while running errands or taking breaks.

The new stations are partially funded by the federal government’s Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP) through Natural Resources Canada. The government’s support aims to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles and make charging more affordable and accessible. Minister of Environment and Climate Change Steven Guilbeault emphasized the importance of reliable charging options for EV drivers, highlighting the federal government’s role in expanding the infrastructure.

Electrify Canada’s new chargers will include advanced features like Plug&Charge, allowing a seamless charging experience. Drivers with compatible vehicles can automatically authenticate and begin charging without using a credit card or mobile app. For those who prefer manual options, payments can still be made using a credit card or the Electrify Canada mobile app, enabling session tracking and contactless payments.

In addition to the new stations in Nova Scotia and Québec, Electrify Canada has recently opened stations in Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick, and Saskatchewan. This expansion brings Electrify Canada’s network to seven provinces, creating a comprehensive network that supports EV drivers across Canada.
