Ford Performance upgrades add 50 hp to Ranger Raptor
Bronco and Ranger Raptors add 100 lb-ft
Want an extra 50 hp for your Ford Ranger? You can get it, along with some extra torque, directly from Ford. The 3.0L EcoBoost V6 upgrade applies to both the Ford Bronco Raptor and Ranger Raptor models and gives them 455 hp and a crap-ton of extra torque.
Ford engineers tweaked and prodded the software that drives the two off-roaders. Their exceptional results are being sold through Ford Performance Parts, and for $825 U.S., they offer one heck of a deal.
The Ranger Raptor gets its 3.0L twin-turbo V6 boosted from 405 hp to 455. Torque is up more than 100 lb-ft, from 430 to 536. The Bronco Raptor with the same engine climbs from 418 hp to 455 and sees its torque up from 440 to 536 lb-ft. Crucially for off-roading, Ford Performance says that this is a “significant low-end torque” boost. It shows up where drivers need it.
Sign up for Raptor School and you get an even better deal. Drivers who register for and attend the Raptor Rally event in Utah on September 21 get a 20 percent off coupon good for the tune or other accessories. Not bad when the $500 event comes with a day of off-road driving and workshops with experts.
Of course the best part is that the calibrations meet Ford’s durability standards. So they come with a three-year 60k km Ford Performance warranty, meaning that any issues that arise will be taken care of by your Ford dealer.
