Ford to Multiply Bronco Trims

The Bronco is a canvas with which Ford will paint, well make, more money

  • There are already up to nine versions on offer.

  • Among the possibilities are electrified models.

The Ford Bronco will go down as one of the hottest products from the 2020s. Ford’s done a great job at keeping the SUV hot, and all but impossible to buy, with a number of versions and trims. From mild off-roader to G.O.A.T capabilities, there’s one for every budget. But apparently, it’s still not enough.

And we can’t blame Ford for jumping on the opportunity. A number of automakers have banked on multiple trims of a given model resulting only in more demand. The Big Bronco certainly presents itself as a perfect candidate for such an undertaking.

“Derivatives are an opportunity, when you have something like a winning product like Bronco, to actually extend into new and different spaces, right, going after different customers. So there’s three examples on the screen here with Everglades, the Raptor and Heritage, all distinctly going after different customers. This is just the start. We have a ton more coming. And on Bronco, we’re never going to let the foot off the throttle pedal. We have a ton of opportunity in different spaces to speak to different customers.,” said Jim Baumbick, Ford’s vice president of product development operations and quality, as reported by Muscle Cars and Trucks.

Though Baumbick does not hint at any particular iteration however an, or more, electrified versions are certainly possible. Hybrid, PHEV, and all-electric models are nearly guaranteed. Having said that, the question remains will Ford drop a V8 in one before long?
