Kia Teases Sportage Facelift with New Design, Likely Debut at LA Motor Show

Kia teases an updated Sportage featuring new LED designs and a tech-inspired interior.

  • New LED headlight and rear light designs inspired by Kia’s Sorento and EV9.

  • Anticipated tech upgrades include a triple-screen infotainment system.

  • Pricing is likely to increase beyond the current $30,295 starting point.

Kia is preparing to release a mid-life update for its best-selling SUV, the Sportage, which looks as though it will debut with revised exterior lighting and a possible tech overhaul. The update, teased by Kia’s home division in Korea, is expected to be revealed at the upcoming LA Motor Show in November.

The teaser images reveal a new headlight design inspired by Kia’s larger models, including the Sorento and the EV9. The Sportage will feature the “Starmap” lighting signature from the EV9. The rear lights have also been updated, though the vehicle’s overall design remains largely unchanged based on the profile image.

While detailed information about the interior has yet to be confirmed, reports suggest the new Sportage may incorporate advanced technology from its electric siblings. A triple-screen infotainment set-up, similar to that of the upcoming EV3, is expected to be part of the offered interior enhancements.

Under the hood, the updated Sportage is anticipated to retain its current range of petrol, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid powertrains. There are no indications that the facelift will bring significant mechanical changes.

Pricing for the facelifted Sportage is expected to rise. The base model is likely to exceed the current starting price of $30,295 for the base 2025 model. Higher-end models, such as the PHEV SX trim, could surpass the existing $49,995 price point.

The updated Kia Sportage is expected to be unveiled at the LA Motor Show next month and could hit Canadian and U.S. markets by mid-2025 for the 2026 model year. Additional details are expected closer to the official reveal.
