The Lynk & Co 03 Cyan Concept was first seen last week at the Geneva Motor Show and we can now see the concept in action in a video.
Making its first public appearance last week at the Geneva Motor Show, the Lynk & Co 03 Cyan Concept is now making its first video appearance. Filmed during testing in Spain, the video, titled A race car for the road, shows the concept’s spirited driving across a road and a circuit.
“This car is a development platform for future production performance road cars based on Lynk & Co technology,” said Henrik Fries, Head of Automotive Research & Development at Cyan Racing.
“We have done this journey before with the Volvo S60 and V60 Polestar in combination with our previous motorsport programme with Volvo Cars and Polestar. To build a road car based on the Lynk & Co 03 World Touring Car Cup race car is an exciting and important step forward for our future programmes,” he added.
The concept is powered by Volvo’s heavily tweaked 2.0L turbocharged engine from Lynk & Co. It develops 528 hp and 372 lb-ft of torque and is paired to a 6-speed sequential gearbox.
The Lynk & Co 03 Cyan Concept is still a street version of a Touring car. Like its racing counterpart, the street car is a front-wheel drive model.
“This is a natural step for us together with Lynk & Co. To build a road version of a race car is a great way to learn more about a car and its characteristics,” said Christian Dahl, founder and owner of Cyan Racing.
The Lynk & Co 03 Cyan Concept will sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds according to Cyan Racing, and will reach 200 km/h in 10 seconds while offering a top speed of 310 km/h. The front 378 mm 6-piston front and rear 290 mm 2-piston brakes will allow the concept to do 100-0 km/h in a staggering 30 meters.
The car will be fitted, at the four corners, with 285/30R20 tires on custom 20″ Cyan wheels.
The next step in the comprehensive development program of the Lynk & Co 03 Cyan Concept is to join the racing team in the pre-season testing in FIA WTCR.
