Mazda Reveals Electric CX-6e for European Market

Mazda's new battery-electric midsize SUV combines rear-wheel-drive, connected technologies, and fast charging for its European debut.

  • CX-6e gets 255 hp rear-wheel-drive electric performance with up to 414 km EPA range.

  • Standard safety package includes advanced driver assistance technologies and Child Presence Detection.

  • European deliveries are scheduled to begin in late summer 2026.

Mazda has revealed the all-new CX-6e, its handsome fully electric midsize SUV scheduled to arrive in European showrooms in late summer 2026. The model combines RWD, plenty of connected technology and a comprehensive suite of standard safety features, adding to the company’s EV lineup in Europe.

Power comes from a rear-mounted electric motor producing 190 kW (255 hp) and 290 Nm (214 lb-ft) of torque. Energy is supplied by a 78-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery that delivers a claimed driving range of up to 484 km WLTP or 414 km EPA. The CX-6e also supports DC fast charging at up to 200 kW, allowing the battery to charge from 10 to 80% in approximately 24 minutes under suitable conditions.

Mazda has equipped the CX-6e with a driver-focused digital cockpit centred around a head-up display. A 26-inch dual split touchscreen spans the dashboard, while the steering wheel includes four programmable shortcut buttons. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard.

The SUV also introduces voice recognition in nine languages and gesture controls that allow selected navigation and media functions to be operated without touching the display.

On top of three drive modes, the CX-6e includes four vehicle modes that simplify common situations. Pet Comfort mode maintains cabin temperature while the driver is temporarily away from the vehicle, and Wash mode disables the automatic windshield wipers, folds the exterior mirrors and closes the windows before cleaning.

Rear-seat occupants receive their own touchscreen to manage climate controls, adjust the sunshade and reposition the front passenger seat for additional comfort. A 23-speaker audio system is also available with headrest speakers.

Higher-spec Takumi Plus models feature digital exterior mirrors that Mazda says increase the field of view by 30% while improving visibility in poor weather and low-light conditions. A digital rear-view mirror maintains rearward visibility even when cargo blocks the conventional mirror.

Every CX-6e includes a standard package of advanced driver assistance systems, including Smart Brake Support, Blind Spot Monitoring, Cruising & Traffic Support, Emergency Lane Keeping and Mazda Radar Cruise Control.

Mazda also provides two companion smartphone applications. The Mazda6e & CX-6e App enables remote vehicle functions and Bluetooth key sharing for up to three users, while the Mazda Charging App provides access to public charging networks across Europe and supports payment in the driver’s domestic currency.
