Mitsubishi Canada Announces 2025 Model Updates, Confirms Mirage Disappears

Oh no, there's no Mirage!

  • Mirage will not be in the 2025 Mitsu line

  • Outlander and PHEV get updates for new year

Mitsubishi Canada has just announced updates to its lineup for 2025, but the one that has the biggest change is the model that’s no longer there. The Mitsubishi Mirage is gone for the 2025 model year, and we don’t expect what was one of the last low-priced new cars to come back.

First, the changes. The 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV gets a new grade called SE. It will give you the cloth seats of the basic ES but will come with silver fake skid plates, LED fog lights, roof rails, a sunroof, three-zone climate control, keyless entry, a heated wheel, and a hands-free tailgate. All very useful stuff for less money than the current LE grade model. It will still get 61 km of range from the electric motors.

The standard Outlander will get a mid-cycle refresh this year. Mitsubishi says to expect new features and an upgraded interior, but the company isn’t ready to spill all the beans just yet. Expect that info later this year, with a first-quarter 2025 launch.

For the 2025 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, Mitsubishi is adding rear seat alert as standard equipment. The feature is meant to help prevent passengers or pets being left in the back seat. The 2025 RVR adds the same safety feature. All vehicles equipped with My Mitsubishi Connect, the automaker’s connected car service, get a one year free trial of Remote Services and five years of Safeguard.

Back to the Mirage. The Mitsubishi Mirage and its pint-sized (2.5-pints to be precise) three-cylinder have been one of the lowest-priced new cars on sale in Canada for the last decade. It also delivers the best fuel economy of any new car in Canada that’s not a hybrid. The subcompact hatchback will be discontinued after the 2024 model year, but there is still time. Mitsubishi Canada told us that production has not yet ended and that it expects to have enough cars to last through the first quarter of next year before the Mirage fades away.

Pricing for the 2025 Mitsubishi Canada lineup will be announced closer to each model arriving at dealers.
