Raptor fans are still upset that Ford did not meet the TRX head-on when the new version of the original super-pickup was revealed recently. If anything, this fact probably boosted Shelby American’s desire to launch the F-250 Super Baja. And we say, we’re happy they did.
Nothing says ultimate truck more than “heavy-duty” or in Ford’s case, Super Duty. Starting with a new F-250 Lariat with the Ultimate package and, most importantly, the 6.7-litre Power Stroke V8 turbo diesel, Shelby adds its own personal touches.
With a whopping 475 horsepower at 2,600rpm and 1,050 lb.-ft. of torque at 1,600rpm, the Power Stroke is left alone but the truck’s chassis gets a massive overhaul. A Shelby by FOX performance suspension system is fitted and includes adjustable upper control arms, a custom BDS lift system, FOX 2.0 dual steering stabilizer, and a full set of dampers with adjustable reservoirs. Custom 18-inch wheels with BFG KM3 37-inch tires are also added.
Other exterior touches include steel front and rear bumpers with tow points, various LED driving lights, Super Baja Chase Rack system, twin spares mounted in the bed, painted fender flares and front grille, exterior striping badging, and more.
The cabin is also upgraded with full leather seat recovers, accents and embroidery, carbon fiber interior, Shelby Super Baja Badging and CSM serialized badging (engine + dash), stainless steel gauges, and more.
Only 250 of these massive trucks will be assembled at a starting price of $125,805. Orders can be placed on Shelby American’s website today.
