Fake News New Mercedes S-Class 6x6 for those that have it all

New Mercedes S-Class 6×6 for those that have it all

Fake news is at an all-time high” – Donald Trump

Sometimes, you have to give the people what they want even if it doesn’t make sense. For the last few years, much has been said, and shown, about Mercedes’ G 63 AMG 6×6 G-wagen, and the latest G 550 4×42 (four-by-four squared) and apparently, consumers with very deep pockets want more of them.

This time however, they want the 6×6’s mad off-road abilities but with a far more civilized cabin sitting on top of the three axles and five locking differentials. That’s right, an AMG S 63 6×6 is coming their way. If you thought the $500,000+ USD sticker price was high for the G 6×6, you’d best sit down for this one: a new AMG S 63 6×6 will retail for over $650,000! Given that the extremely rare G 6×6 is trading on the “used car” market for nearly a million dollars, the S is a bargain!

The S 63 6×6 will be the only production luxury sedan capable of trudging through 1 meter of standing water, conquer sand dunes like a Dodge Grand Caravan conquers soccer fields and will do so in the absolute lap of luxury.

The car will be powered by the same biturbo 4.0-litre V8 and the resulting 603 horsepower and 664 lb.-ft. of torque between 2,250 and 4,500 rpm. Weighing nearly 100 kg (220 lbs.) less than the G at 4,015 kg., the S 6×6 will reach 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds (about 1.6 seconds less than the G) and consume much fuel in the process.

Exact production numbers are unknown however we don’t expect that Mercedes will build much more than 100 as they did with the G 6×6. Expect pictures and availabilities to be revealed soon.
