New Volvo V60: the dream wagon

Images of the new Volvo V60 flooded the interwebs yesterday and to be quite honest, we should have had a story online right away. We’re sorry about that. The reason for the delay: Shock.

Absolutely shocked at how gorgeous and so totally Volvo the new V60 is! We’d been told by our friendly Volvo Canada PR folks that the new V60 was going to take our breath away. That, it did.

The world-premiere of the V60 took place in the driveway of a suburban Stockholm home yesterday. The comments thus far about the car’s styling have been nothing but positive and we’re joining on that bandwagon.

The V60, and presumably next S60 sedan, is built on Volvo’s Scalable Product Architecture, the same one that underpins the XC60 and XC90 crossovers, and many others.

The car will be powered by the usual series of engines (T5, T6), including a 390 horsepower T8 plug-in hybrid version. FWD and AWD will be on the menu as will a slew of technologies, from connectivity, safety and autonomous driving. It will also be available through Volvo’s “Care by Volvo” subscription plan.

We CAN’T wait to drive it!
