Dodge shows what looks like the next Charger in new ad
Ad fine print says car will be available in 2024
According to Santa’s list, the latest muscle car from Dodge will be arriving before the end of next year. The latest Dodge ad showed a rendering of a car that looked like a Dodge Charger Daytona Banshee concept with round headlights and an estimated arrival.
The YouTube ad is called Think Twice, and it opens with a shot of a book labeled “Santa’s Naughty List: An Origin Story.” At the top of the naughty list are Horace and John, better known as the Dodge Brothers who founded the car company in 1914.
It’s only a 15-second spot, and most of it is filled with current-generation models like the Dodge Durango, Charger, and Challenger. It talks about muscle cars, but most of the models shown are V6 variants.
But the rendering of a vehicle that looks a lot like last year’s Dodge Charger Daytona SRT concept car has our full attention. The concept was revealed in August of 2022, an electric vehicle that had an amplified exhaust system that was designed to be as loud as a Hellcat V8-powered gas car.
The fine print has the crucial detail “PreProduction model shown for illustration purposes only. Available late 2024.”
If the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT is going to go into production by the end of next year, we can expect to see it very soon. A few years ago, we would have suggested it would be at the Detroit show in January. But either Chicago in February or the New York show at the end of March are likely suspects for the car’s reveal.
Until that official reveal, this sketch along with the concept car are all we have.
