Ram Adds Black Express and Warlock to the 2500 Lineup

Ram will offer by the end of the year two new models in the 2500 lineup focused on style and capability

  •  Both models are built on the Tradesman Crew Cab 4×4 trim
  •  Buyers can choose between the 6.4-litre HEMI V8 or the 6.7-litre inline-6 Cummins
  •  Option prices are $3,995 for the Black Express and $4,495 for the Warlock

Ram is expanding its presence in the heavy-duty pickup market with the introduction of the 2026 Ram 2500 Black Express and Warlock. These models represent the brand’s latest move in its product expansion strategy. Offering bold styling and enhanced off-road capabilities at a more accessible price point, the two new variants are expected to arrive at Canadian dealerships in the third quarter of 2025.

Black Express: A Bold, Street-Ready Performer

The 2026 Ram 2500 Black Express brings a sleek, monochromatic aesthetic to Ram’s Heavy Duty segment. Based on the Tradesman Crew Cab 4×4 trim, the Black Express is available with either a short or long bed configuration. This model stands out with a sport performance hood, body-colour bumpers and grille, and 20-inch black wheels, delivering an aggressive yet refined road presence.

The Black Express also features power convex trailer tow mirrors. Inside, it offers cloth bench seating, carpeted floor coverings, and floor mats—prioritizing function without straying from its rugged DNA.

The Black Express package adds $3,995 CAD to the base model, bringing the starting MSRP to $78,385 CAD for the 4×4 configuration (including a $2,595 destination charge). A palette of eight exterior paint options is available, though certain colours—such as Molten Red and Ceramic Grey—may have limited or late availability.

Warlock: Rugged Design Meets Off-Road Power

Drawing inspiration from Ram’s off-road heritage, the 2026 Ram 2500 Warlock builds on the same Tradesman Crew Cab 4×4 short bed platform but adds enhanced off-road capabilities and a more rugged design. Key visual highlights include a black grille surround, fender flares, black bumpers, and the signature Warlock bedside decal.

What sets the Warlock apart is its off-road readiness: 33-inch Goodyear Duratrac all-terrain tires, Bilstein shocks, a transfer case skid plate, Hill Descent Control, and an anti-spin rear differential. The package also includes diamond-cut 20-inch wheels and all-weather floor mats, making it suitable for both trail adventures and daily driving.

Priced at $4,495 CAD, the Warlock package brings the total starting price to $78,885 CAD (including a $2,595 destination charge). Like the Black Express, the Warlock is offered in a wide range of colours, appealing to drivers who want both performance and personality.

This addition to the lineup is far from incidental—the Warlock reaches a milestone moment, debuting 50 years after the original Warlock launched as part of Dodge’s 1970s D-Series lineup.

Originally introduced under Dodge’s provocative “Adult Toys” marketing campaign, the first Warlock stood out with its bold, factory-customized appearance and street-smart attitude. Ram revived the name in 2019 for the 1500 Classic, and now it’s scaling up the legacy for the 2500 series.

Powertrain Options: Diesel Torque or V8 Muscle

Both the Black Express and Warlock offer two engine choices, each paired with the TorqueFlite HD 8-speed automatic transmission. The standard 6.4-litre HEMI® V8 delivers 405 horsepower and 429 lb.-ft. of torque—ample for hauling and towing. For those needing maximum torque, the optional 6.7-litre Cummins High-Output Turbo Diesel delivers an impressive 1,075 lb.-ft. of torque and 430 horsepower—ideal for heavy-duty work and long-distance hauls.

Segment-Leading Ride Quality

Beyond bold design and power, the 2026 Ram 2500 lineup—including these new variants—benefits from Ram’s class-exclusive link-coil rear suspension system. This innovation significantly improves ride comfort and handling, whether the truck is fully loaded or cruising empty, setting it apart from the typically rough ride found in the segment.
