Leftover inventory has always been a fascinating topic, especially when automakers release their annual sales figures. At Stellantis, year after year, there are always what can only be described as “zombies,” meaning brand-new vehicles that are still being sold even though their production ended years ago.

Overall Stellantis sales declined by 3 percent in the United States in 2025, reaching 1,260,344 vehicles. Beyond this statistic, which highlights the fact that the group needs to rethink its strategy to better reach consumers, the sales figures also reveal some rare curiosities.
The Dart
When looking at the list of models sold by Stellantis in 2025, the automaker managed to sell about six Dodge Dart units. This is particularly surprising given that this American-Italian sedan has not been in production since 2016, nearly ten years ago. This means that some dealerships carried these vehicles in inventory throughout that entire period. Even more amusing is the fact that this generation of the Dart was only produced for four years, from 2013 to 2016.

Still on the list of automotive undead, there are also seventeen Dodge Journey units whose production ended more than five years ago, following a long run from 2009 to 2020. Also discontinued in 2020, nine Dodge Grand Caravan units found buyers as well. In their case, this is somewhat surprising considering the model’s popularity and its affordability compared to the competition.

At Fiat, unsurprisingly, there are also a few oddities, with two 500L models recorded as being sold new during the 2025 calendar year. The year 2026 will almost certainly bring a few more surprises, and who knows, perhaps in 2032 it will still be possible to buy a brand-new 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S.
