The SX package is available on the SR5 trim level for both trucks
This package includes body-colored and blacked out exterior and interior accents
The Tacoma is also available with a chrome package on the SR5 trim
Toyota is introducing a new appearance package for both of its pickups for 2023 by making the SX package available on the Tacoma and Tundra in SR5 trim.
Despite wearing the same name, the SX packages have significant differences between the two trucks.
Indeed, the Tundra, which was entirely reworked for 2022, replaces its black rear bumper and door handles with body colour elements when the SX package is selected on an SR5 grade truck, the first trim level up from the base SR.
In addition, the standard wheels are replaced by 18-inch alloys finished in dark grey metallic and the Tundra logos on the doors are removed in order to provide a cleaner and more modern look. On trucks so equipped, the 4×4 logo on the tailgate goes from chrome to black and on every Tundra equipped with the SX package, the silver interior accents are replaced with blacked out ones.
The new SX package is not available on every model however, since only the Double Cab models with the 6.5-foot bed and the Crew Max version with the 5.5-foot bed can be ordered with it, and only when painted in white, grey, silver or black.
On the smaller Tacoma, the SX Package goes for a more rugged look by adding black accents to the exterior, including overfenders, side mirrors and badging, in addition to the blackout trim that is installed all around. To complete the look, black 16-inch wheels with black lug nuts replace the standard ones and an exclusive graphic is applied to the bed.
On the Tacoma, the SX package is available only on the Access Cab and Double Cab SR5 grade trucks powered by the available V6 engine.
The 2023 Toyota Tacoma benefits from another new appearance package for 2023 since the Chrome Package makes its debut.
This package, available only on the V6-powered SR5 Tacoma equipped with the Double Cab and the 5-foot bed, this package adds chromed accents on the door handles and the exhaust tips, as well as a chrome Tacoma logo on the tailgate and exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels finished in chrome. A leather wrapped shift knob adds a touch of refinement on the inside of this more traditional looking compact pickup.
The 2023 Toyota Tacoma also receives smaller changes this year, such as the smart key access system on the V6-equipped SR5 models and the Solar Octane colour exclusive to the top-of-the line TRD Pro.
