The new 2019 Kia Forte was presented today in Detroit, just days after the surprise announcement by the Korean manufacturer that it would indeed present its new compact at the International Auto Show.
Visually, the 2019 Forte does not change dramatically, but the changes are still noticeable. That said, it is under the body panels that we notice the most significant modifications.
To begin with, the structure of the 2019 Forte is stiffer by 26 percent thanks to the increased use of high-strength steel. In addition, the dimensions of the Forte increase, and the car is longer, wider and higher than the 2018 model.
The same 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine returns, and its power should be about the same as the current engine, 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. However, we will have to say goodbye to the 6-speed automatic transmission. Indeed, the new Kia Forte will instead receive a continuously variable automatic transmission in order to improve fuel economy.
Finally, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto technologies will be standard just like an 8-inch center screen. The 2019 Forte will also receive a variety of driver assistance technologies. It will be in dealerships in the next few months.
