The new Volvo V60 Cross Country was sort of expected, but on the other hand there was always a chance Volvo would get cold feet at the last second and axe the project. We’re sure glad they didn’t.
The 2019 Volvo V60 Cross Country gives Volvo a true successor to the XC70, a car so popular it never should have left the market. It just needed to be improved upon, but Volvo wasn’t in a position to do that a few years ago.
The 2019 Volvo V60 Cross Country may be the next XC70
Now, Volvo is on a roll and this new V60 Cross Country is proof. Volvo doesn’t really innovate styling wise from one vehicle to the next, but they don’t need to.
You can immediately recognize that the V60 Cross Country wears a Volvo badge with its aggressive and muscular design that’s also refined and luxurious.
Refined and luxurious define the interior as well. Again, Volvo stays true to its recipe and the layout you find in the V60 CC is the same as in any other Volvo vehicle redesigned in the last three years.
Thanks to standard all-wheel drive, 75 mm extra of ground clearance, an overall longer footprint and a reinforced suspension and dampening system, the V60 Cross Country can handle an off-road trek.
On the other hand, a range of active safety features like City Safety with automatic pedestrian, bicycle, and large animal braking keep you safe on the road. That’s where most V60 CC owners will be found anyhow.
A diesel engine will be offered in Europe, but the North American 2019 Volvo V60 Cross Country will probably only get the turbocharged four-cylinder and 2.0-liter T5 which delivers 250 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.
The 2019 Volvo V60 Cross Country will hit showrooms next spring.
