Quick news story here, the 2020 Toyota Corolla Sedan will officially be unveiled in China on November 16th. A teaser video was released showing the sedan next to a hatchback and a third body style, and we expect the model we’ll see next week to closely resemble if not be identical to the North American Corolla.
We may even see the new Corolla at the L.A. Auto Show at the end of the month, but that’s pure speculation.
What isn’t speculation is that the 12th-generation Corolla is coming and should hit the market sometime next year. A new Corolla is a big deal, and we are certainly looking forward to seeing the production sedan given what Toyota has been doing to its lineup recently.
The Corolla Hatchback is actually fun to drive, and both the Camry and RAV4 have upped the sportiness factor in their recent redesigns. That means that we could actually get a sporty Corolla sedan, one that sheds the beige-and-in-the-wrong-lane-on-the-highway image of the previous generations.
Granted, being considered boring by auto journalists never hurt the Corolla’s sales, so maybe Toyota won’t take too many risks with the 2020 edition. We’ll just have to wait and see.
