All-New Envision gets Avenir, Sport Touring
Sole engine a 2.0L 228 hp turbo-four
Buick has just officially revealed the all-new second-generation Envision for 2021. The new crossover will get new Avenir and Sport Touring trims and starts from $37,598. It’s hitting dealers across Canada now.
The 2021 Buick Envision offers a new look for the brand, with a lower and wider-looking nose. Buick says the proportions are more car-like than before, and it certainly seems that way at least in the nose.
New for the 2021 Envision is the Avenir model, Buick’s top-shelf luxury trim joining Preferred and Essence for this version. It will offer 20-inch alloys as well as a mesh grille and tinted chrome trim, all in an exclusive to Avenir pearl nickel finish as well as diamond-perforated quilted leather seats (with heat and ventilation up front), driver massage, and heated rear chairs. Adaptive damping will be an option. Like Buick’s other Sport Touring model, the Encore GX, that option (on Preferred and Essence) will offer black exterior touches and black 20’s.
All 2021 Envisions get LED head, tail, and running lights, with a welcome and walkaway animation. All-wheel drive with a twin-clutch system is optional while all get a 2.0L turbo-four making 228 hp and 258 lb-ft. A nine-speed automatic is included.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be standard as will a split-center armrest Buick said was popular with owners of the old model. A retractable cover storage compartment hides the wireless charging as well as your stuff. A heated wheel is also standard as is an air ioniser with a panoramic power roof optional.
Standard driver aids will include automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, auto high beams, rear cross traffic alert, lane change and blind zone alert, as well as the usual suspects. HD Surround cameras are optional as is enhanced park assist, head-up display, and adaptive cruise control.
