The Mazda3 is the first-ever repeat winner among the cars.
The Genesis GV80 is on quite a winning streak too.
The Automotive Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) reveals its 2021 Car and Utility Vehicle of the Year winners and they are quite deserving.
The finalists for the Car Of The Year were the Genesis G80, Kia K5, and Mazda3, all three quite deserving. The winner, the 2021 Mazda3, is the first-ever repeat winner among cars. The AJAC revised its procedures a few years ago to better reflect the ever-changing automotive landscape, its buyers, and needs. This explains why the Mazda3 has once more won the coveted title of the COTY.
As for the Utility Vehicle Of The Year, the finalists were the Genesis GV80, Nissan Rogue, and Kia Telluride. Of the three innovative SUVs, the Genesis GV80 has been selected as the winner. Last year’s winner, the Jaguar I-Pace, also won the title in 2019.
These winners are determined and voted on by a jury of more than 80 top Canadian automotive journalists from across the country. Votes are tabulated throughout the year while vehicles are being reviewed by AJAC members.
