Toyota has unveiled the 2026 GRMN Corolla, the highest-performance version of its GR Corolla lineup to date, combining serious motorsport-derived engineering, chassis revisions and increased engine torque to a limited-production hot hatch scheduled to arrive at Canadian dealerships this summer.

Built at Toyota’s Motomachi plant in Japan, the GRMN Corolla will be offered primarily in North America, Japan and Australia. Global production is capped at 730 units, with Canadian pricing starting at $77,280, before fees. Buyers can choose between Zero Gravity and Gravel exterior finishes.
Development centred on Germany’s Nürburgring circuit and Toyota’s participation in Japan’s Super Taikyu endurance racing series. Engineers used both real-world competition and simulator development to refine the car’s suspension, aerodynamics and GR-FOUR all-wheel-drive calibration.
Power comes from Toyota’s quirky turbocharged 1.6L three-cylinder G16E-GTS engine, producing 300 hp and 302 lb.-ft. of torque, an increase in mid-range pulling power designed to improve acceleration when exiting corners. A six-speed intelligent manual transmission with rev-matching is the only transmission offered.
The GRMN Corolla receives an intercooler spray system, sub-radiator and cool-air intake duct to help maintain consistent performance during sustained high-load driving. Lessons from Toyota’s hydrogen-powered GR Corolla endurance racing program contributed to engine fine-tuning.

The chassis receives exclusive monotube shock absorbers with internal rebound springs, revised electric power steering calibration and updated AWD software. Also part of the mix are Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires wrapped around forged 18-inch matte bronze wheels and optimized bump-stop characteristics for increased high-speed stability and cornering performance.
Body and aerodynamic upgrades include a carbon-fibre hood, carbon-fibre front fenders, front side spoilers, hood and fender ducts, plus a carbon-fibre rear wing featuring five-position angle adjustment. All components were refined through testing during Super Taikyu competition and repeated Nürburgring evaluations.

Inside, the GRMN Corolla adopts a dedicated two-seat layout, like the Morizo Edition before it, that eliminates the rear bench as part of a 30-kg weight reduction. Semi-bucket sport seats trimmed in Brin Naub suede and synthetic leather, flocked dashboard and A-pillars, carbon trim, Morizo’s signature on the instrument panel and a numbered serial plaque distinguish the cabin.
If you want one, better act fast, as the GRMN Corolla should sell out fast.
