25 Jahre means 25 years of X5

BMW Canada is building a special edition of the X5 to celebrate 25 years of the company’s first SUV. The 2025 BMW X5 Edition 25 Jahre might not be as cool as the Jahre versions of the M3, but it will definitely have other countries seeing green with envy.
That’s because the limited-run cars will be offered in two special colours, both used on the original 1999 X5’s launch: Le Mans Blue Metallic and Oxford Green II, both now part of the BMW Individual portfolio.
Blue copies of the X5 Edition 25 Jahre get a Silverstone interior and poplar grain anthracite brown wood trim. The green ones get coffee upholstery and fineline stripe brown high gloss trim.
Other details for this one include gloss black window trim, which is normally saved for M Sport package cars. It also includes BMW’s horrendous light-up grille and Shadowline dark headlights. The 21-inch wheels are an homage to the 18-inch Style 131s that were offered on the first X5s. These models get xLine aluminum-accent rockers and bumpers instead of the faux M pieces on other M Sport package models.
There aren’t any go-fast performance upgrades, but the 25 Jahre will get extra off-road capability. The xOffroad package is exclusive here and includes air suspension with more ground clearance, underbody skid plates, and a mechanical rear differential lock. It will also offer different terrain modes to help its off-pavement performance.
Strangely, the locking differential also includes the M Sport Differential function. Buyers of the 2025 X5 Edition 25 Jahre will also get Harman Kardon audio, heated front and rear seats, heated armrests, and some other goodies. Only 250 copies will be built, and they’re only for Canada. Pricing starts from $102,500, and they’ll hit dealers near the end of the year.
