If you were looking for high-res images of a sleek and powerful looking M8 Gran Coupé, we’re sorry to disappoint…
These pictures are actually patent images of BMW’s future 5-door flagship super-saloon. By studying them, we can see that the final product will look very much like the M8 Gran Coupé concept that was revealed in the course of the Geneva Motor Show last March.
The 8 Series will be powered by a TwinPower turbocharged 523-horsepower 4.4-litre V8. The M8, both coupe and Gran, should get a 600-horsepower variant of the engine, or the same output currently found in the M5 sedan.
The M850i’s US pricing starts at $111,900, compared to the M5’s $102,700. The M6 Gran Coupe goes for $119,900 so we’re expecting a $10,000-20,000 premium over this price for the M8 Gran Coupé.
The M850i should arrive in showrooms later this fall. The Gran Coupé is not expect until the spring of 2019.
