Production recently started back up.
GM will make huge efforts to promote the car.
Chevrolet Bolt production was down for roughly eight months.
The Chevrolet Bolt’s past is exactly where it belongs. Moving forward, General Motors and Chevrolet will invest heavily in promoting the Bolt EV and Bolt EUV. They’ve so far advertised the EVs during all Major League Baseball broadcasts, but they’re not done yet.
“We’re coming strong with this product,” Steve Majoros, Chevrolet’s marketing director said as reported by the Detroit Free Press. “This may shape up to be the number two product as far as the amount of spend that we put nationally behind our products this calendar year.”
The potential to dramatically increase sales of both versions of the Chevrolet Bolt is very real. GM’s best Bolt year saw 24,000 be delivered and Chevrolet thinks they significantly surpass that number.
The main challenge, other than reminding consumers about the Chevrolet Bolt, will be produced. Part supply issues remain a serious problem, as does shipping. There are roughly 6,700 Bolts in dealer inventories however not all have received replacement batteries.
Production resumed earlier this week. For Majoros, the month of April will be “a transitionary month.”
