Could Tesla Be Moving Into Oshawa In The Future?

Tesla’s own Elon Musk mentioned this in an interview over the weekend on CBS News’ 60 Minutes. His words, as per the norm, sent everyone running all over the place like chickens with their heads cut off. The first question we need to ask ourselves is whether or not we should believe his words.

One way or another, it’s nearly impossible to predict or confirm. Musk’s plans obviously include building more cars and recently vacated GM plants could be a relatively inexpensive way to settle in various regions across North America and increase production. Tesla has the Model Y, a pickup and likely more models in the pipeline so this is without a doubt an opportunity.

Ontario’s Oshawa Assembly, Michigan’s Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly and Lordstown Assembly of Ohio are on the list but there’s no timeline. Currently, Tesla’s building a plant in China and this project has quickly become something of an expensive headache.

Meanwhile, Tesla is apparently seeking $167 million from the self-proclaimed Tesla whistleblower from Martin Tripp who was described as a “saboteur” by Musk. Maybe this is how one of the purchases will happen…
