Gold paint returned last year for 50th anniversary of Challenger
Continuing Dodge’s great line of colour names
Dodge is continuing to mine for gold, adding Gold Rush to even more performance car models for 2021. It’s more of the throwback colour that the brand re-introduced last year to the Challenger anniversary edition, adding to Dodge’s impressive range of bold and retro paint jobs for its two remaining car models.
Gold Rush was brought back for the Challenger 50th Anniversary Limited Edition for 2020, then was also announced for 2021 Challenger models including the T/A, Dodge Challenger T/A 392, SRT Hellcat, and SRT Hellcat Redeye including the various widebody versions of those cars. It also came with a satin black hood, roof, and trunk lid.
Now it’s being added to the Dodge Charger playlist for 2021 as well, with dealers able to order the cars starting in the spring. On the four-door Charger, Gold Rush will be offered on R/T, Scat Pack (and widebody), SRT Hellcat and SRT Hellcat Redeye models, again the cars must also have the satin black hand-painted roof, hood, and decklid, though the contrasting tone does add to the appeal of the model.
“The customer response to the Dodge Challenger Gold Rush exceeded our expectations,” said Dodge brand boss Tim Kuniskis. Dodge said it is “delivering a pot o’ gold to its muscle car enthusiasts just in time for St. Patrick’s Day.”
It joins the wonderfully-named range of paint colours for the 2021 Charger including Frostbite, Hellraisin, Sinamon Stick, TorRed, F8 Green and Go Mango.
