Dodge Unveils “Hellephant” Dodge Demon 170 Engine Is Now Available for Order

Dodge’s performance division is set to release a new lineup of crate engines, including the Hellephant C170, with availability starting in the first quarter of 2024.

 

  • The Hellephant C170 engine, known for its use in the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, will be available for consumer purchase.

  • A new series of Direct Connection long blocks, including the Hellcrate Redeye and HurriCrate variants, to launch in early 2024.

  • Special promotions through Dodge Power Brokers dealers include up to $1,000 off on crate engine purchases until the end of 2023 in the U.S.


 

Direct Connection, Dodge’s official outlet for performance products, has announced the impending release of their Hellephant C170 6.2L Supercharged Crate HEMI Engine, which is slated to be available for consumer purchase in the first quarter of 2024, as stated in a press release from the manufacturer. This powerhouse engine, also used in the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, is part of a broader launch that includes a new series of long blocks designed to enhance vehicle performance.

The announced product lineup is quite extensive, with options like the Hellcrate Redeye and standard Hellcrate, both supercharged for maximum output. The 392 and 345 Crate HEMI Long Blocks, as well as the turbocharged HurriCrate Cat 3 and Cat 1 Long Blocks, complete the range of offerings. These engines vary in power and torque capabilities, providing options for different levels of performance needs and budget considerations.

The second edition of the Direct Connection parts catalog is now available for digital download, offering enthusiasts a detailed look at the full range of products, including the newly added supercharger and transmission kits. This catalog is part of Dodge’s efforts to enhance its Direct Connection portfolio, which has seen significant expansion since its relaunch in March 2022.
