Final Toyota GR Supra MkV Heads to Charity Auction with Akio Toyoda Signature

Toyota’s final MkV GR Supra will be auctioned in Scottsdale, with proceeds supporting Reach Out WorldWide.

  • Toyota donated the final MkV GR Supra to Reach Out WorldWide for a charity auction.

  • The one-of-one Final Edition carries Akio Toyoda’s signature and a commemorative “99999” VIN.

  • Barrett-Jackson will auction the 382-hp manual Supra in Scottsdale during its January event.

Toyota is closing the MkV GR Supra chapter with a charity sale involving the final example ever produced.

Toyota North America has fittingly donated the last GR Supra Final Edition to Reach Out WorldWide (ROWW), the disaster-response organization established by the late actor Paul Walker. The one-of-one coupe is scheduled to be auctioned at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale event in January, with all proceeds directed to the nonprofit.

The organization provides assistance following natural disasters around the world, including search-and-rescue work and the distribution of essential supplies.

Toyota has given the final production car several unique identifying features. Its Phantom Gray body is paired with black exterior accents and red mirror caps, not to mention a carbon-fibre rear spoiler and GT4 Style Pack, which further distinguish the vehicle. The VIN ends in “99999,” marking its commemorative status.

Akio Toyoda, chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation, has also signed the car.

The Final Edition incorporates the last series of mechanical changes intended to sharpen the Supra’s performance. The Supra is fitted with stiffer bushings, revised suspension camber settings and a strengthened front stabilizer. The package also includes updated shock absorbers and larger Brembo brakes.

Matte-black 19-inch wheels complete the menacing exterior look. Inside, Toyota combines black leather and Alcantara upholstery with carbon-fibre trim, contrasting stitching, GR-embroidered headrests and red seatbelts.

Power comes from the BMW-sourced turbocharged 3.0L inline-six good for 382 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque. The auction vehicle is offered with the must-have six-speed manual transmission. Toyota lists a zero-to-60-mph (97 km/h) acceleration time of 4.2 seconds.

No pre-auction value has been announced. However, Barrett-Jackson has a significant Supra charity-sale precedent. The first 2020 GR Supra brought US$2.1 million at auction in 2019.

Barrett-Jackson CEO Craig Jackson said the auction house intends to mobilize collectors to challenge that result while generating significant funding for ROWW.

The January sale will connect two notable points in the MkV Supra’s production history: its first production example generated millions for charity, and its final car will leave Toyota through another charitable auction.
