Ford Bronco Hybrid Reportedly A Thing

In a shareholder conference call, Ford CEO Jim Hackett substantiated that the highly-anticipated Ford Bronco will have a hybrid variant.

In a tweet from Automotive News’ Michael Martinez, Ford Big Cheese Jim Hackett would have announced at the company’s 64th annual shareholder meeting that there will be a hybrid version of the Ford Bronco SUV

Ford, among many other car companies, is working hard at pushing their electric agendas. The best way is to integrate batteries and electric motors into SUVs and that’ll do the trick. The hype surrounding the next Bronco will help launch the truck into stardom and a hybrid (PHEV likely) will make it all better.

Ford remains very coy about the Bronco, keeping real details on the very down-low. We know, at least we think we do, that there will be a 2-door and a 4-door version and that a Baby Bronco is also a possibility. Beyond a covered silhouette, we’ve got little else to go on.

One thing is certain and that is that Ford went through a rough-ish year in 2018 but they seem to have a plan going forward and nearly all them involve some form of electrification. Let’s hope that EVs are a strong way forward. It will be as long as there are incentives for consumers to buy them.

Either way however, it’ll be cool.
