The G80 BMW M3 will be significantly more powerful than the previous car.
This rendering puts the controversial kidney grille is a better light.
With the right set of skills, this artist’s vision of what the all-new G80 BMW M3 shows how cohesive the car’s design can be.
This controversial oversized large vertical nostril-grille with horizontal bars that is plaguing the BMW M3 and M4 will eventually be forgotten once we get to drive the car. In the meantime, however, this rendering of the new M3 shared on kolesa.ru demonstrates that, if done right, the grille might blend relatively seamlessly into its surroundings.
Immediately adjacent to the front fascia are flared fenders and a unique bonnet, both quite visible in the rendering. Within the front end, the large air intakes that flank the grille and the air duct slots distract the eye just enough so as not to focus entirely on the oversized kidneys. All other visual cues in the rendering are perfectly BMW M3, right down to the discreet boot-lid mounted spoiler.
Remember that this is the first time in the M3’s long and storied history that it is adorned with a unique grille. Perhaps BMW should have left well enough alone, and then again, maybe they’re onto something.
