2024 Hyundai Santa Fe: 5 Questions Answered

The all-new 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is rugged luxury

In the summer of 2023, Hyundai unveiled the world premiere of the Santa Fe 2024 in Korea. Its North American debut is scheduled for November at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

  • The Hyundai Santa Fe 2024 has a much more adventurous and assertive look.

  • Its wheelbase has been lengthened to offer more space for the second and third rows.

  • The Santa Fe 2024 is available with a hybrid powertrain developing 180 hp.

For 2024, Hyundai is introducing the fifth generation of the Santa Fe, and this one is distinctly different from the outgoing model.

What are the features of the Hyundai Santa Fe 2024?

Aesthetically, the 2024 Santa Fe marks a departure from the fourth-generation model. It has a stronger, more assertive appearance than in the past. At the front, the hood is raised. The headlights and taillights are shaped like an H, reminiscent of the Korean automaker’s logo. At the rear, the tailgate is significantly wider to facilitate access to the cargo area.

In terms of dimensions, Hyundai has lengthened the wheelbase of the Santa Fe for 2024 to increase comfort and space in the second and third rows. In fact, legroom has been increased in both the second and third rows.

Inside, noteworthy new features include a UV-C sterilization tray and a dual wireless charging system for cellular devices. The new iteration of the Santa Fe also features a curved screen, including 12.3-inch digital instrumentation.

The Santa Fe 2024 doesn’t skimp on safety. It is equipped with Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Driver Attention Alert, Intelligent Cruise Control, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, Rear View Monitor, Rear Cross-Collision Avoidance Assist, Parking Distance Alert (front and rear), 360° camera system, Intelligent Remote Parking Assist and Safe Exit Assist.

What engines are available with the Hyundai Santa Fe 2024?

For the North American market, Hyundai offers a selection of two engines for consumers interested in the Santa Fe 2024. They can choose between a 2.5 L, four-cylinder turbocharged engine. This develops 281 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque. They can also opt for a hybrid powertrain, with a 1.6 L, four-cylinder turbocharged unit delivering 180 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque.

When will it hit the market?

The Hyundai Santa Fe 2024 is scheduled to hit the Canadian market in the first half of 2024.

How much will it cost?

For the moment, Hyundai has not disclosed the price range of the Santa Fe 2024. The 2023 model starts at $37,999. Considering the number of new features the Korean manufacturer is offering for the model’s fifth generation, we estimate a reasonable price increase of $2,500. We therefore predict that the Hyundai Santa Fe 2024 will start at $40,499 for the Canadian market.

What do we think of the Hyundai Santa Fe 2024?

With its new look, the Hyundai Santa Fe 2024 is a real eye-catcher. It used to be criticized for being a vehicle without soul or personality. Well, the tide seems to be turning. With the model’s fifth generation, Hyundai also seems to be embracing the adventurous, off-road styling that’s so much in vogue these days.

Mechanically, the Santa Fe 2024 remains on familiar ground. These are generally efficient powertrains. We hope that they will be adapted to an SUV of this size. And we applaud Hyundai for offering an electrified version. However, we would have liked to see a plug-in hybrid powertrain, as is the case on the European market. Perhaps Hyundai will correct the situation eventually.
