Jumping Kias in Triple Threat Stunt to Show Off New K5

Leaping Kia K5s are just fun, who cares why?

  • 295 hp Stinger GTs get jumped, don’t pancake

  • Baby Driver, John Wick action director lead this team

Kia is going stunting to show off the new K5 midsize sedan, the company’s most powerful midsizer ever. They aimed two of the cars at each other and sent them over a jump, while a third did a 180-degree turn underneath of them.

The Triple Threat Stunt is Kia’s way of showing off that the turbocharged K5 290 hp K5 isn’t your boring midsize sedan. Instead, they want you to see it as being fun and fresh. Directing the stunt was Darrin Prescott, who was the action director behind movies like Baby Driver, Ford Vs Ferrari, and Drive. All movies with amazing chases.

Behind the wheels were the family stunt driving duo Jalil Jay and Brionna Lynch along with Sean Graham. Graham was on the bottom of the stunt the Lynches on top doing the jump.

Start at the beginning if you want to hear how the stunt was done and you want to hear more about the performance and interior of the Kia K5. There are some good chats with the drivers and how they prepare for stunts like this, finding speeds and meeting points.

But if, like us, you just want to get to the jump, fast forward to the 11-minute mark and watch two Kias fly. With plenty of slow-motion replays to enjoy. More car jump commercials, please.
