Latest Technic is the ultimate fast off-roader
Lego Ford Raptor gets moving engine, suspension
Looking for a Ford Raptor but don’t have much room in the garage? How about this Raptor, one of the latest in the Lego Technic line that lets you build the orange dune-hopper in the comfort of your living room then hit the most gnarly jumps your furniture has to offer.
The 1,379-piece Lego Ford Raptor joins the Bugatti Chiron, Ferrari 488, Lamborghini Sian, and more icons in the Technic range. Put it all together and you’ll get a 42 cm long, 15 cm tall bright orange brute with articulating suspension and working steering.
Look under that hood and you’ll find a V6 engine that has moving pistons to look extra cool. All four doors open to show off the interior, and you can even open the tailgate. It even features a representation of a Michigan license plate, home of the Motor City.
Flared fenders with aggressive dark plastic arches, wide running boards, off-road bumper, and the special Ford-letter grill that’s specific to the Raptor are all represented in the Lego version of the truck.
The brick Raptor is available for pre-order now and it is set to ship starting the first of October. The price for the kit is $99.99 for US buyers or $139.99 in Canada. Once you’re done with the kit, put it on display alongside your Land Rover Lego Defender. Or, better yet, send them both off-road around the family room to test what each off-roader is really capable of.
