The Eletre will be a high-performance SUV.
Here’s another electric SUV that has to potential to change everything for the automaker.
The official reveal is on March 29th happening in London.
Nearly all established luxury automakers have one of these. Small or compact premium SUVs are the bread and butter for the majority of them and it shows. Lotus is about to step into the ring with the Eletre and if all things go to plan, it should quickly become the British car company’s best seller.
From Audi to Volvo, with less than a handful of exceptions, automakers are investing in their Tesla Model Y fighters. The Audi Q4 e-tron, Maserati Grecale Folgore, Mercedes-Benz EQC, and Volvo XC40 Recharge are only a few examples of the plethora of new models in the segment. And let’s not forget electric SUVs from start-ups like the Fisker Ocean and Polestar 3 that are also vying for a piece of the sales pie.
Lotus will not let this opportunity pass as it too will introduce a new electric SUV called Eletre (pronounced “El-etra” and means “Coming to Life” in some Eastern European languages). Details are scarce however some leaked images on the web portray a fairly aggressive-looking vehicle with a heavily raked roofline.
We’ll know much more tomorrow at 19.30hrs BST when Lotus will reveal the new Eletre to the world.
