Lucid Air drove 1,205 km across Europe on one charge, setting a new Guinness World Record.

Lucid Air Grand Touring features 960-km WLTP range and ultra-fast charging capability.
Lucid Motors has established a new Guinness World Record for the longest distance travelled by an electric vehicle on a single charge. The Lucid Air Grand Touring covered 1,205.8 km between St. Moritz, Switzerland and Munich, Germany, without stopping to recharge, surpassing the previous record by 160 km.

The record-setting drive took place on July 5 and 6. Umit Sabanci, Kenneth Schofield, and Fergal McGrath completed the route, which included alpine terrain, highways, and local roads. According to Lucid, the journey was verified by Guinness World Records officials.
“This range record represents a milestone,” said Eric Bach, Lucid’s Senior Vice President of Product and Chief Engineer, in a statement included in the announcement. He credited the result to the vehicle’s efficiency, high-voltage system, and battery management technology.
The Lucid Air Grand Touring used for the drive is equipped with a dual-motor system producing 819 hp, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds. The vehicle has a WLTP-rated range of up to 824 km, with energy consumption figures ranging from 16.0 to 13.5 kWh per 100 km. Using compatible high-power DC chargers, the sedan can add approximately 300 km of range in about 11 minutes.
2025 Lucid Air Touring Review: This is the Best Premium EV Sedan
This marks the second Guinness World Record involving Sabanci and Lucid. In 2024, Sabanci drove a Lucid Air Grand Touring through nine countries on a single charge, setting the record for the most countries visited without recharging.
Other manufacturers have conducted long-distance EV runs. In December 2023, Nio’s ET7 sedan completed a 1,044-km trip from Shanghai to Xiamen using a 150-kilowatt-hour semi-solid-state battery, finishing the 14-hour journey with 7 % charge remaining.
In separate independent testing, the Norwegian Automobile Federation and Motor.no found that the Lucid Air Grand Touring achieved 832 km in a range test, the highest among 27 electric vehicles assessed, though 130 km short of its advertised maximum.
Lucid recently introduced Android Auto across its Air lineup in North America, expanding software support alongside hardware developments.
