We’re in the very middle of a deep dive into the 8th generation Porsche 911 – it’s like calculus but for cars. In all seriousness, the lengths that Porsche has gone to make the new 911 the greatest ever, and the greatest at what it does are almost scary. One would think that this much effort in the aerospace business could have us on Mars before the Holidays…
The new 992 will be the first Porsche car to be underpinned by the new MMB (Modular Mid-Engine) but no dates for the coming of the next generation 718 are known. While we can’t comment yet on how the 992 drives, we expect nothing short of greatness.
Meanwhile, the new Macan S has just arrived, adding to the compact SUV’s refreshed lineup. The Porsche now features a revised turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 that produces 348-horsepower and 352 lb.-ft. of torque. The S will reach 100 km/h in only 5.1 seconds and consume less than 9L/100km on average. The exterior is now more in-line with the Cayenne and Panamera while the cabin now gains a new 10.9-inch PCM system. Pricing starts at $63,000.
